We drive up to Vabuleino and enjoy a day with hiking, scenic tour to Hydalen, rowing and fishing at Vavatn. Swimming for those who dare.

This is the main hotel in the center of Hemsedal, 5 min drive to Fausko and walking distance to our house. We have reserved the 23 newly refurbished rooms, but here are more space if needed.

How to get here by AIR

Hemsedal is located between Oslo and Bergen and there are three airports to fly to:

Oslo Airport (OSL), 3 hours drive from Hemsedal

Bergen airport (BGO), 4 hours drive from Hemsedal

Sandefjord Airport, south of Oslo, 4 hours drive from Hemsedal.

We suggest to use websites like www.google.com/flights If you are flexible just put your city and Norway a destination to get all the prices up.

Since July is the best time of the year to go to Norway, it is smart to spend some time to find the best flights.

Also www.skyscanner.com is good, and for the best direct flights are usually with www.norwegian.com.

Rental cars, train and bus

RENTAL CARS

We recommend people to get rental cars. Check sites like www. holidayautos.com and www.hotwire.com

ARRIVING BY TRAIN

Another alternativ is by train from the airport. This is a beautiful and scenic way to experience Norway. www.nsb.no for tickets. train station is Gol. We will either arrange pick up or there will be a transfer bus in Gol which is 30 min from Hemsedal

From NEW YORK

For direct flights we recommend Norwegian from JFK to OSLO (OSL) or from Stewart Airport upstate (SWF) direct to Bergen (BGO).

We could look into chartering a bus for all New Yorkers.
